Our Ministries

Enlist, Equip and Deploy
the people of God...

The Council on Ministries consists of staff, lay leaders and ministry team leaders from each of Centenary’s primary ministry areas:
Additionally, there are four age-level ministries:
While Centenary is a large church with many diverse and meaningful ministries, it has but one vision: to Enlist, Equip and Deploy the people of God to do the work of Jesus Christ in our church, our community and the world.  It is this vision that unites the church in Christian community.

The Council on Ministries is designed to bring church leadership together in order to realize this vision.
COM leadership works closely with the administrative committees of the church to ensure ministry needs are considered in all facets of church life.  Both, administrative committees and the Council on Ministries are accountable to the Church Council.

The work of the Council on Ministries is to:
  • Provide visionary leadership
  • Establish annual priorities, goals and objectives
  • Create annual operational budgets that support ministry priorities
  • Facilitate and support the implementation of ministry objectives
  • Support and foster new ministries
  • Act as a sounding board for ideas and concerns
  • Explore pressing questions or issues facing ministry teams and the church
  • Seek how to best enlist, equip and deploy the people of God to be the hands and feet of Christ in our church, community and world
  • Establish evaluation practices that strengthen ministry teams, and create a stronger church
